Words without Borders (WWB), www.wordswithoutborders.org , the online magazine for international literature in translation, opens doors to the rest of the world. For those new to the site, we're a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting dialogue and exchange. We believe that in a world rife with ignorance and incomprehension of other cultures, literature in translation has a crucial role to play.
As WWB has grown, we have received many inquiries about our work. A frequent request is for more information and exchange about translation. As a result, and in our efforts to become an ever more useful clearinghouse of information about world literature, we would like to put together a comprehensive database of translators for all languages. We hope you'll be willing to help.
Please note that your information will NOT be exchanged, sold, or traded. In keeping with our nonprofit status, the listings will be a public service to our community of publishers, translators, authors and others.
If you would be willing to be listed in our database, please just reply to this email with answers to the questions below and as much contact info as possible/desired including:
–Your name
–Address
–Fax
–Phone
–Email
–the languages that you translate,
–the genres that you translate (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama etc.)
–if appropriate, what you're working on
RSVPs should be sent to wordswithoutborders@gmail.com. Thank you again for your help in creating this much-needed community resource and please forward this email to a friend.
Sincerely yours,
