West Coast Premiere of Waxing West at Brava Theater, May 1 – 18
Saviana Stanescu's Waxing West tells the story of Romanian cosmetologist, Daniela, who arrives in New York as the soon-to-be bride of American businessman, Charlie. Haunting the play, the late Romanian dictators, the Ceausecus, appear in Daniela's nightmares as insatiable vampires and offer surreal commentary on her journey towards the American Dream.
