TEH Member centre OZU(Monteleone Sabino, Italy) presents Contempo_Area.
Along the river Farfa in the region of Sabina, Italy a path of permanent outdoor sculptures along the river Farfa was opened. The event called Contempo_Area was focused on the idea of art for the protection and enhancement of the environment. 14 artists were invited to work in consideration with the territory. Dear readers, Welcome to TEH Newsletter #9 2011, featuring the latest news from Trans Europe Halles – a European Network of Independent Cultural Centres. The TEH Newsletter is produced by the TEH Coordination Office in Lund, Sweden.
The TEH Meeting fever is on and its highly contagious. The whole network has got it. And no wonder, the Meeting 72 in Bordeaux will be the biggest in TEH history. With its 150 participants it is now fully booked. The interest for this meeting has been astonishing! The flow of mails requesting attendance haven't ceased to fill our inboxes. The network is proud.
Less than a week to go before the coordination office team will embark the flight taking us to the promised land of wine and cheese. The programme is inspiring indeed. Featuring both French and Spanish artists, it will guarantee the participants a entertaining and culturally enriching experience. For the final version of the programme, click here.

Great interest in TEH at ”Fábricas en red” conference in Bilbao
The Cultural Department of the Basque Government has initiated a series of grants and events to support cultural operators, organisations and artists to set up creative spaces in the Basque country. Within this framework of events a conference was organized 13th October by Kultiba at ZAWP – a cultural organization in the peninsula Zorrotzaurre in Bilbao. The organization invited TEH Secretary General Birgitta Persson as a keynote speaker to present TEH as an established network, to describe the activities and the benefits of being part of a network.
Engine Room Europe at TEH Meeting 72 TEH:s three-year network programme Engine Room Europe (May 2011–April 2014) is spreading its wings and launching new activities all over the continent. As the TEH Meeting 72 is one of the many activities powered by Engine Room Europe, the meeting in Bordeaux will also serve as a platform for introducing other ERE projects. These project presentations will take place at the Working the Net session on Thursday, 27th October. These projects are:

First deadline for Staff Exchange! The Engine Room Europe Staff Exchange Programme runs from October 2011 to August 2013. TEH Meeting 72 in Bordeaux is the starting point, and the end of the programme will be the training and evaluation workshop in August/September 2013 in Italy. The first deadline for application is 11th November! The next deadlines for future exchanges are also planned shortly after the upcoming TEH Meetings.
Bakelit presents: Five In One The FIVE IN ONE initiative is an international art project that belongs to Bakelit Multi Art Center (Budapest, Hungary) which aims to get Czech, Slovak, Polish and Hungarian prosaic and visual artists together for working in common and creating a valuable, high standard show. The premiere will be at Bakelit MAC on 24-25-26th October 2011.
Creative Ways of Storing Food for Winter Food by REX MICROCULTURES. Artists Aviv Kuglanski, Vahida Ramujkić and Moshe Robas together with REX (Belgrade, Serbia) invite you to use local and international recipes to make pickled cucumbers, mixed salad, Bulgarian candy, and various other new and unexpected combinations. 13-19th October in the Kalenić open-air market in Belgrade and 21 – 27th October in the open-air market in Leskovac.

As a member of Culture Action Europe, Trans Europe Halles supports the we are more campaign and its brand new advocacy toolkit, launched in July 2011. It provides campaign supporters with key arguments and solid facts and figures to back them up. Thanks to the help of dedicated individuals, the Message book has already been translated to seven languages.
