We are delighted to announce In the Same Room: Middle Eastern Women in Theater,
a convening at the New York University Abu Dhabi Institute at 19 Washington Square North,
in New York, NY on March 3rd and 4th, 2014.
Curated by Catherine Coray (NYU Tisch and NYUAD Affiliated Faculty) and Naila Al Atrash (Visiting Professor, University of Connecticut), In the Same Room was conceived to bring together distinguished theater makers and thinkers from the Middle East with US theater artists of Middle Eastern origin to explore how we might work together to build understanding and mutual support, and find possibilities for future collaboration.
We hope you will join us for these two days of formal and informal conversations, readings, live performances and lively debate between actors and scholars, writers and designers, arts educators and directors from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, the UAE and the US, among other countries.
