Open call! Be a part of the biggest festival in Brooklyn!
In partnership with Arts In Bushwick, HTW will be curating the official Bushwick Open Studios Performance Art showcase this year based on our successful Artist Response Forum series.
Hybrid will present a provocative and dialogue-inducing body of work, with an emphasis on pieces that engage with and respond to current social and political issues.
The main event will be held on Saturday June 1 from 6:30-9pm at Brooklyn Fire Proof, 119 Ingraham St.
Performances should respond to current social and political issues, utilizing visually striking techniques and cross-disciplinary processes, and will be presented in site specific locations around the venue including the gallery, bar, and outdoor courtyard.
Performance should be between 5-10 minutes (however 1-2 durational performances will be considered on a case by case basis)
Artists are required to:
Attend at least one meeting prior to the event to discuss their pieces
Be available at least two hours before the start of the event
Provide equipment and support for any technical requirements
Deadline for submissions is: Wednesday May 1, 2013
BOS’13 is a free event bringing together visual artists, performers, musicians, designers, and the public to celebrate creative expression in one of New York’s most vital arts districts. BOS ’13 will showcase over 500 individual artist studios and dozens of related events in Bushwick, in addition to larger exhibitions featuring artists from the greater New York area and beyond.
