Dear OTM newsletter readers,
March has been a very busy month for On the Move with the sending of the Creative Europe application, the organisation of the workshop on green issues for the sustainable support to cultural mobility in Berlin (as part of the EU funded GALA project), the finalisation of two guides to be published online in April and the preparation of On the Move’s General Assembly in Amsterdam.OTM members attending OTM General Assembly on 2 April 2014 (hosted by DutchCulture, centre for international cooperation) will then take part in the Conference The Future is Not What is Used to Be, organised by Trans Europe Halles, Melkweg and P60. We are back with our monthly newsletter rendez-vous with a new selection of cultural mobility opportunities in Europe and the rest of the world, which covers a large range of art disciplines from performing and visual arts to video, media art, literature etc.

Read and spread the political manifesto by Culture Action Europe (CAE) for the European elections, presenting CAE’s vision for the European project and its demands for the future European Parliament. Use as well the excellent condensed advocacy-kit prepared by Trans Europe Halles!
Istikshaf regional mobility and freedom of movement policy agenda – Online petition
We already mentioned the Istikshaf policy agenda initiated by the Arab Education Forum (Jordan), the International Association for Creation and Training (Egypt), and the Roberto Cimetta Fund (France). You can now sign an online petition to support artistic and cultural mobility in the Euro-Arab zone.
Berghof Foundation: Grant for Innovation in Conflict Transformation
National Dialogues serve to bring in the various and diverging interests of all stakeholders during processes of political transition; can be understood as a kind of “creative space” within which ideas of national unity, reconciliation and peace building can prosper. There are no geographical restrictions on applicants. Deadline for applications: 31 March 2014.
Genius Loci competition for interactive facades, Weimar (Germany)
Weimar is host to a competition for facade projection, for which artists from all over the world are invited to submit their work. The best applications are chosen by the residents, the visitors to the city, as well as by an expert jury. The winners are given the opportunity to present their work as part of the Genius Loci Weimar festival. Deadline for applications: 15 April 2014.
Young Arab Theatre Fund (YATF) – Calls for production and touring
The Young Arab Theatre Fund (YATF) is an international organization designed to serve independent young artists living and working in the Arab World. The long term goal of YATF is to encourage the sustainability of the independent artistic scene in the Arab World and to nurture and sustain its development. Deadlines: three fixed deadlines per year, on the 1st of January, 1st of May and 1st of September.
UNESCO – International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC)
Eligible activities are the production of cultural and artistic works and the organization of cultural and artistic events of national, regional and/or international scope contributing to the establishment of culture and development strategies and programme. Deadline for applications: 30 May 2014.This call is different from the UNESCO: International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD): Fifth Call for Funding Request.
Institute of International Education (IIE), USA – Award to rescue scholars in the field of arts
Established with gifts from II
E Trustees Robert L. Dilenschneider and Mark A. Angelson, the Janet Hennessey Dilenschneider Scholar Rescue Award in the Arts will provide life-saving fellowships to 10 threatened scholars in fields such as painting, dance, music, architecture, and the performing arts.

Contemporary Dance Night – Call for choreographers (Cairo, Egypt)
CDN Team calls for choreographers from Egypt, the United States of America, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom to present proposals of new creations that will be developed through a residence of two months in Egypt. Deadline : 1 April 2014.
National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) > International research fellowship
Individuals (between 25 and 45) who work in related fields of contemporary art such as museum professionals, curators, art historians, critics, conservators, educators, etc can apply. They shall come from Asia, Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and South America. Deadline for applications: 15 April 2014.
Fragile will be developed in collaboration with 3 performers from different EU countries to be selected by choreographer Cosmin Manolescu following a series of workshops conducted in Porto, Luxembourg, Bucharest and Riga. Deadline for applications: 1 May 2014. Please note the new deadline, 30 May 2014 for another project under E-Motional, Map.
Sound City Development – Focus 2014: Mind the Gap in Riga (Latvia) and Helsinki (Finland)
Sound City Development is looking for project proposals and work theses that comply with the invitation to Mind the Gap! and that could utilize the three-week expedition from Riga to Helsinki for realizing these endeavors. The projects should have a strong research bias, be linked to being on the road and facing open horizons, but also leave room for the provisional. Deadline for applications: 25 April 2014.
Literature from the North: travel grants to discover Icelandic authors and writers (Iceland)
The Icelandic Literature Center contributes to the promotion of Icelandic literature abroad. Authors, foreign publishers and organizers of literary events (festivals) can apply for support for Icelandic authors travelling abroad to promote their work. Application deadlines: 15 June, 15 September and 15 November.

European Film Academy (EFA): The Creative Use of Virtual Production, Masterclass, Berlin, Germany
The EFA Master Class 2014 is designed as a multidisciplinary workshop for 20 creative European film professionals – directors, producers, cinematographers and post-production supervisors and anyone working in special/visual effects departments. Deadline for applications: 30 April 2014.
Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts (Austria)
Prospective participants submit to an application process in which the teaching artists select their students. There are a number of grants which include travel grants. Applications for these grants should be made directly to the granting bodies, according to their guidelines and closing dates.
Call for Artists: Impakt WORKS Residency 2014 (Utrecht, The Netherlands)
Impakt Works is looking for Dutch and international media artists working with digital media, video, sound, interactive technologies. Projects could be connected with Impakt year theme ‘Soft Machines‘. Residency lasts two months and will end with an (interactive) installation, a performance or a video. Deadline for applications: 1 April 2014.
City of curiosities studios, Marseilles, France > Residencies
This 2014 call for applications is open for 4 artists in residencies: two 12 months international residencies starting from June 2014 to the end of May 2015, and 2 national 24 months' residencies starting from June 2014 to May 2016. Deadline for applications: 11 April 2014.
Open call > Artistic residency in Basilicata (Italy)
The residencies will take place from May to October 2014 at one of the Centers for Creativity of Urban Visions Project. The residences' project is open to young creative Italian and / or foreign people aged between 18 and 35, that work at professional level in the different fields of contemporary art, with a particular reference to the visual arts, video / film, sound design, music, theater and writing. Deadline for applications: 29 April 2014.
ARCUS Project 2014 IBARAKI Artist-in-residence (Japan)
The organisers are looking for a project which does not regard final presentation as a goal, but tries to conduct a site-specific research / project within a certain period of time. It is also expected that the research / project is open to public for sharing the process and collaboration. Deadline for applications: 30 April 2014.

European Meetings: Young Creation Companionship, Paris (France)
