Information Standards for the Mobility of Artists and Cultural Professionals – Dec. 2011

As foreseen in the Work Plan for Culture 2011-2014, the European Commission set up in May 2011 an EU expert group on mobility information standards to develop common content and quality standards for information and advice relating to the mobility of artists and cultural professionals. The group included On the Move, and worked out a document entitled "information standards for the mobility of artists and cultural professionals" which offers policy makers in the EU Members States with practical guidance for setting up information services in their countries.

Point of Departure – Open call for artists and curators

Points of Departure (PoD) aims to encourage creative exchange between Palestine and the UK and to provide an opportunity for research, public engagement, and the production of new artworks to be showcased in London and Palestine in 2013. Six artists will be selected to take part in this project, three from Palestine and three based in the UK. Additionally, one curator from Palestine and one curator from the UK will be selected to support the production and curation of the resultant exhibition. Deadline: 10 March for curators, 16 March for artists.

Paul Celan Fellowship Program for literary translations

The Paul Celan Fellowships support translations from Eastern to Western, Western to Eastern, or between two Eastern European languages of canonical texts and contemporary key works in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. Paul Celan Visiting Fellows are invited to spend three to six months at the iwm between July 2012 and June 2013 to pursue their translation projects while working in residence at the Institute. Deadline for applications is March 25.

Circostrada Network organises a second work seminar on the structuring of circus arts in Europe. In addition to a reviewing the situation, the two days of seminar aim to formulate a series of recommendations, addressed to regional, national and European institutions, for a better recognition of specificities of contemporary circus creation. Registrations are now open for the seminar in Paris, on 13-14 April.

The virtual orchestra is an online collaborative project started by Little Symphony that involves young musicians from across the globe.
