Roberto Cimetta Fund: new call for travel grants
The Roberto Cimetta Fund is launching an open call for travel grants from 1st to 31st January 2012, in the framework of two partnerships with Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture and with Marseille-Provence, European Capital of Culture 2013. The deadline for applications is 31 January 2012.
ECF Collaboration Grants fund transnational, cross-sectoral activities by independent cultural and artistic organisations working together or with organisations from other sectors (outside the cultural field). The grant opens on 20 February and the deadline is 2 May.
Art Moves Africa offers travel funds to artists, arts professionals and cultural operators living and working in Africa to travel within the African continent in order to engage in the exchange of information, the enhancement of skills, the development of informal networks and the pursuit of cooperation.

European Media Artists in Residence Exchange EMARE MEXICO 2012
The European Media Art Network and its partners provide residencies (grant, accommodation and travel expenses covered) between April and Septembre 2012 in Mexico, England, Germany, France and the Netherlands. EU and Mexican-based artists (especially young artists) in the fields of digital media are invited to apply – by 6 February.
Studio XX, Montreal: artists' residency
Studio XX’s residencies offer artists opportunities to experiment and create new works. The Studio – based in Montréal, Québec – favors interdisciplinary approaches and cultivates a network of experts capable of responding to the requirements of its resident artists, on technical, creative and theoretical levels. The disaster of the earthquake and tsunamis and the accident of the nuclear power plant have been undermining the condition of survival and the structure of society. Les Rencontres, association of European cities and regions for culture, in partnership with the City of Maribor and Maribor 2012 Public Institute, organises a thematic meeting about "Culture in touch with social borders: source of new creative paradigms". A call for papers is open till 15 March.

The aim of the IN TRANSIT study is to provide an overview of the main international legal instruments which impact on the mobility of artists, art works, cultural goods and services. Case studies of bilateral and multilateral legal agreements give practical insight into how legal instruments are used by countries across the world to enhance cross- border mobility. The study was commissioned by the UNESCO to Richard Poláček & Judith Staines and is now available in English and French.
New study shows that European repertoire struggles to cross borders within the EU
Music repertoire from the European Union is widely played on radio and downloaded by consumers in the EU, but artists from the region struggle to achieve recognition and success within EU countries. The results of an extensive study about the cross border flow of music repertoire within the EU, carried out by European Music Office, in partnership with Eurosonic Noordeslag and Nielsen, in January 2012.
