www.on-the-move.org is a website dedicated to information about international mobility in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other performing arts disciplines. We issue a regular bulletin with opportunities for the mobility of artists and other performing arts professionals plus news, policy and resource items that specifically concern international mobility.

You are invited to send us news and announcements with specific opportunities or information, to facilitate and encourage cross-border professional mobility in the contemporary performing arts. Suitable news items will be posted on the website and is distributed to our subscribers worldwide in our newsflash.

Rainbow Platform: online consultation on cultural diversity (deadline: May 16) The Rainbow Platform rethinks Europe's approach to cultural diversity by pooling the expertise of organisations in the fields of culture, lifelong learning, youth, social affairs, anti-racism, minority rights and inter-religious dialogue.

Young Arab Theatre Fund Production & Touring grants (deadline: 1 May) We would like to remind you the next deadline, on the 1st of May 2008, to apply for the YATF supports: Production and Touring programs. Arab Fund for Arts & Culture – grants programme (deadline: 30 Sep) The Arab Fund for Arts & Culture aims at simulating and supporting artistic creativity and freedom of cultural expression in the Arab World. Ruy de Clavijo programme (Spain-Asia-Pacific cultural research & cooperation), deadline: 30 May) Call for applications for grants for cultural research and cooperation between Spain, IberoAmerica and Asia/Pacific. The Ruy de Clavijo programme is organised by Casa Asia. Grants for cultural cooperation & coproductions in Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euro-Region (deadline: 26 May) A call for applications for cultural cooperation across the Mediterranean-Pyrenees Euroregion Open to organisations in the French and Spanish departments of: Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Aragon, Balearics & Catalunya. Deadline is 26 May. EU-ACP (African, Caribbean & Pacific) cultural cooperation grants: call due May 2008 A call is due to be announced in May for cultural cooperation grants between EU and ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States). European Commission: support to EU-Mexico cultural cooperation exchanges (deadline: 1 Jun) European Comission: programme of support for EU-Mexico cultural exchange This programme aims to promote cultural cooperation between the EU and Mexico, through the implementation of cultural exchanges between both regions, leading to participation of artists from EU Member states (and eligible countries) in cultural festivals in Mexico as well as other meetings and cultural policy dialogue between cultural operators in EU and Mexico. Civic Education in Action mobility programme (deadline: 30 May) Presenting a new exchange programme, which is announced this year for the first time by the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, open to young professionals in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic & Hungary.  Call for proposals for cultural cooperation projects EU-Brazil (deadline: Jun 1) The European Commission Culture Programme (2007-2013) announces a Call for Proposals for cultural cooperation projects with Brazil. European Voluntary Service: mobility opportunities in Art & Culture for 18-30 year olds EVS – European Voluntary Service – is part of the EU-programme Youth in Action. EVS gives all young persons aged 18-30 the possibility to work abroad for 2-12 months. Iberescena (Deadline: Jul 18) The present call for participation is aimed to public and private institutions, professional groups and companies of theatre and dance of Spain and seven Iberoamerican countries whose activities to strengthen programs of cooperation and integration.

Participation is open to choreographers of any nationality.  Turku, European Capital of Culture 2011 – Open Project Call (deadline: 31 May 08) Turku (Finland), the European Capital of Culture for 2011, is on the search for project proposals. Youth Cultural Center has a pleasure to invite you to participate to The Fourth edition of "WHITE NIGHT 2008" festival, 27 of September 2008, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Young Artists for Children, International collaborative project within MINIFEST Festival, Rostov-on-Don, Russia, Oct 2008 (deadline: 30 Jul) Call for young artists interested to create art for children. The MINIFEST Festival and Rostov-on-Don State Theatre for Youth invite young actors, directors and playwrights aged 17-25 to take part in the international collaborative project together with Russian artists on 10-18 October 2008. Kamerata, International Theatre Festival, Chelyabinsk, Russia, Oct 2008 (deadline: 1 May) 10th edition of Kamerata festival that has a competition section will be held in Chelyabinsk in autumn 2008; organizers have announced a call for applications from theatre companies.  4th International Festival of Making Theatre, Athens, Jul 6-13 (deadlines Apr 30 – teachers & Jun 30 – participants) 4th In.F.o.Ma.T. 2008 – During a whole week of creative interaction, Theater Makers from all over the world will have the opportunity to share and get acquainted with new working methods and ideas, regarding the following three sectors: Acting, Movement and Voice.

Music Theatre NOW Awards 2008 (deadline: May 16) Music Theatre NOW Awards 2008 – Call for Entries For the first time the International Music Theatre Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in cooperation with the German Centre of ITI invites artists to participate in a worldwide competition for the creators of new opera and music theatre. Montreal International Musical Competition Violin Edition (Deadline: January 8, 2010) From May 24 to June 3, 2010, Montreal will host the Montreal International Musical Competition Violin Edition. Montreal International Musical Competition Voice Edition (Deadline: January 9, 2009) From May 18 to 28, 2009, Montreal will host the Montreal International Musical Competition Voice Edition. VI Competition of Latin American Choreography. Fundación Autor.Spain (Deadline: June, 15) Aimed at any choreographer born in Latin American country, residents in any country with a continuity work in dance. The subject is free. The number of dancers cannot exceed 10 and the maximum time is 15 minutes. The music must be by a Latin American composer of any period.

Calumet Arts residencies, Croatia, Jul 25 – Aug3 Calumet International Arts Association would like to inform you about our upcoming artist residency programme this summer in Croatia. Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes – call for artists residencies (deadline: 23 May) During the last seventeen years, the Pépinières Européennes pour jeunes artistes have been fostering and supporting promotion and mobility of young artists amongst the European artistic scene. You can download the speeches and programme on the website of the Goethe Institut Brussels. Sustainability: a new frontier for the arts and cultures – book published Mobility-sustainability-intercultural competence-interdisciplinary practices – all essential areas of dialogue. An interesting new publication discusses sustainability in relation to the arts and culture.
