www.on-the-move.org is a website dedicated to information about international mobility in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other performing arts disciplines. We issue a regular bulletin with opportunities for the mobility of artists and other performing arts professionals plus news, policy and resource items that specifically concern international mobility.

Theatre director, Mark Weil, brutally killed Enormously respected theater director, Mark Weil, widely praised for challenging political repression in Uzbekistan, was murdered 6 September on the eve of the opening of a new production and a new theatre season of his Ilkhom Theater.

Grants for Mobility

Theatre Communications Group/ITI travel grants (between Central/Eastern & Russia and USA) – deadline: 26 Oct TCG/ITI Travel Grants award funding to theatres and individual theatre professionals for travel between USA and countries of Central/Eastern Europe and Russia. Applications to be made by US partner. Roberto Cimetta Fund for individual travel grants The Roberto Cimetta Fund is an international association promoting artistic exchange and the mobility of professionals in the field of contemporary performing arts and visual arts within the Mediterranean area. STEP beyond mobility scheme Cross-border travel is the life-blood of cultural cooperation. Young artists and practitioners of the cultural sector need to meet their international peers, exchange views, influence and learn from each other.

TW1 Call for proposals for site-specific art project, Stavanger, Norway, 2008 (deadline: 5 Nov) TW1 – east side of Stavanger, a rapidly changing area of the city. Creative people from all artistic fields are invited to propose work inspired by sites on this route. European Diploma in Cultural Project Management 2008/09 (deadline: 15 Jan) The European Diploma in cultural project management is a pan-European training program organised by the Marcel Hicter Foundation.  2008 programme takes place in Cyprus and Finland.
