www.on-the-move.org is a website dedicated to information about international mobility in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other performing arts disciplines. We issue a regular bulletin with opportunities for the mobility of artists and other performing arts professionals plus news, policy and resource items that specifically concern international mobility.

You are invited to send us news and announcements with specific opportunities or information, to facilitate and encourage cross-border professional mobility in the contemporary performing arts. Have you been interested in doing so but not sure how to start? Theatre director, Mark Weil, brutally killed Enormously respected theater director, Mark Weil, widely praised for challenging political repression in Uzbekistan, was murdered 6 September on the eve of the opening of a new production and a new theatre season of his Ilkhom Theater.

Grants for Mobility

Theatre Communications Group/ITI travel grants (between Central/Eastern & Russia and USA) – deadline: 26 Oct TCG/ITI Travel Grants award funding to theatres and individual theatre professionals for travel between USA and countries of Central/Eastern Europe and Russia. Applications to be made by US partner. Roberto Cimetta Fund for individual travel grants The Roberto Cimetta Fund is an international association promoting artistic exchange and the mobility of professionals in the field of contemporary performing arts and visual arts within the Mediterranean area. STEP beyond mobility scheme Cross-border travel is the life-blood of cultural cooperation. Young artists and practitioners of the cultural sector need to meet their international peers, exchange views, influence and learn from each other.

TW1 Call for proposals for site-specific art project, Stavanger, Norway, 2008 (deadline: 5 Nov) TW1 – east side of Stavanger, a rapidly changing area of the city. Creative people from all artistic fields are invited to propose work inspired by sites on this route. Selected artists invited to workshop and presentation event. *TEST!*, international student theatre festival, Zagreb, Jan 23-26 (deadline: 30 Oct) *TEST!* – The annual student Theatre and Multimedia arts festival TEST takes place again this January in Zagreb, open to international participation. YouthArt Multifest 2008, Serbia, May 08 (deadline: Nov 15) YouthArt MultiFest (Serbia, 2008)- Art without borders – call for submission from young artists, up to 35 years old. Call for artists from Greece & Cyprus for Festival I Porti Dell'Arte, Italy (deadline: Nov 30) Artists in performing arts (and other disciplines) from Greece and Cyprus invited to send proposals for Festival the Ports of Art in Catania, Italy in Spring 2008.

ComPeung Artist in Residency programme 2008 ComPeung is seeking applications for our 2008 Artist Residency Program in Northern Thailand. Artists or arts workers who work in or with communities are encouraged to apply. danceWEB Europe scholarships, Vienna, Jul/Aug 2008 (deadline: Jan 10) danceWEB Europe SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMM 2008, a 5-week summer residency for professional dancers and choreographers, will take place: July 9 – August 13 in Vienna, Austria at ImPulsTanz Festival. European Diploma in Cultural Project Management 2008/09 (deadline: 15 Jan) The European Diploma in cultural project management is a pan-European training program organised by the Marcel Hicter Foundation.  2008 programme takes place in Cyprus and Finland. Transitions Online seeks writers and reviewers for internet magazine Transitions Online, an internet cultural magazine covering Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans and former Soviet Union, seeks writers and reviewers to contribute cultural content.
