www.on-the-move.org is a website dedicated to information about international mobility in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other performing arts disciplines. We issue a regular bulletin with opportunities for the mobility of artists and other performing arts professionals plus news, policy and resource items that specifically concern international mobility.

You are invited to send us news and announcements with specific opportunities or information, to facilitate and encourage cross-border professional mobility in the contemporary performing arts. Suitable news items will be posted on the website and is distributed to our subscribers worldwide in our newsflash.

OTM newly updated publications: download now! On-the-Move has updated its popular publications. These are available as free downloads. They will be translated into Spanish and available later in 2007 thanks to our funding partner Fundacion Autor/SGAE in Spain. Grants for Mobility

Nordic Mobility programme (deadline: Oct 28) On Thursday, September 20, 2007 Nordic Culture Point will again open up for applications to the modules within the Mobility program. Culture Programme: call for cultural cooperation projects with China & India (NEW DEADLINE: 15 Oct) Call for cultural cooperation proposals with and in third countries (China & India) announced. Bi-annual projects to take place 2007-2009 can be considered.  Culture Programme: CALL FOR 2008 ANNOUNCED (deadlines 31 Oct & 5 Nov) The European Commission has announced its call for 2008 funding proposals under the Culture Programme. PAJ Europe (grants for Japan-Europe performing arts projects): deadline: 27 Oct PAJ Europe is the Japan Foundation's Performing Arts programme for Europe, offering grants to organisations based in Europe for Japan-related performing arts projects, either Touring or Collaboration/Co-productions

International Forum of New Music, Manuel Enriquez, Mexico, May 2008 (deadline: 28 Sep) A call for composers of new music to submit compositions for selection for the International Forum of New Music Manuel Enríquez to be held in Mexico in 2008. Bucharest International Jazz Competition, May 2008 (deadline: 10 Feb) Call for jazz bands and vocalists for the Bucharest International Jazz Competition, 7 – 13 may 2008 2nd Electroacoustic composition prize Visiones Sonoras-Yamaha, Mexico (deadline: 5 Oct) The National Coordination for Music and Opera of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and the Mexican Center for Music and Sonic Arts invite electroacoustic music composers to participate in the 2nd Electroacoustic Composition Prize Visiones Sonoras-Yamaha.

Training

Pantheatre training courses Pantheatre announces training courses and workshops for 2007/08 in voice performance and choreographic theatre techniques. Intercultural Performance Academy, Berlin: autumn workshop programme I.P.A. Intercultural Performance Academy, Berlin announces its workshops for autumn 2007

Trans Europe Halles meeting, Finland, Oct 25-28 (register by 30 Sep) TEH Meeting 64 in Helsinki and Hämeenlinna, Finland – October 25th – 28th 2007, "Innovating White Rabbits – Improving your Economy and Developing your Cultural Offering at the Same Time" Mediterrània – fair of traditional performance shows, Manresa, Spain, 1-4 Nov (registration deadline for programmers: 15 Oct) The multidisciplinary market of new artistic creations inspired by the cultural traits of Catalonia and the Mediterranean region. Open for registration for programmers and stand bookings. Monterrey 2007 Forum, Mexico, 20 Sep – 8 Dec A global event, taking place every four years which connects cities around the world on themes of culture, peace, education, knowledge and environment. Cultural diversity is one of the main themes.  Performing Arts Market & IETM Satellite meeting, Seoul, Korea, 9-14 Oct (Registration now open!) The 3rd Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS) takes place on October 9 – 14 in Daehangno, Seoul, Korea.

Euro-Mediterranean

Euro-Med Young Artists Network launches website & projects The EMYAN network presents its new website and forthcoming projects including the Euro-Med Live! Concerts which will be streamed live via the web. MELOPEE cultural management workshop: proposals from Euro-mediterranean cultural operators (deadline: 24 Sep) CALL FOR PROPOSAL to participate in a CULTURAL MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP for OPERATORS from the EURO-MEDITERRANEAN area.

Other activities

European standard for theatre technology: draft paper for comments (deadline: 19 Oct) A call to theatre technicians and designers to comment on a paper designed to provide a Europe-wide industry standard on technical issues of the work. 

Partner search

Mamuska Nights seeks partners & collaborators for growing network Recently founded as an independent organisation, Mamuska Nights is dedicated to the creation of socially meaningful arts events and the development of collaborative networks. Cultural Meeting Point – partner search portal The Spanish Cultural Contact Point has set up an extensive partner search portal which draws on information from all cultural contact points (which provide information to applicants for European Culture Programmes funded by the European Community) around the EU Member States.

Resources

Rhiz.eu site launched by European Cultural Foundation An intercultural meeting place developed to give its members an easy and fun environment for communicating and collaborating with each other. Rhiz.eu was created by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF). Mobility of Imagination: A Companion Guide to International Cultural Cooperation A new guide to international cultural cooperation by Dragan Klaic is published. This concise guidebook explains the purpose and expected benefits of international cultural cooperation, its risks and strategic issues, models and success factors.

Theatre Without Borders An informal, volunteer, virtual community that shares information and builds connections between individuals and institutions interested in international theatre exchange. Swiss Platform for Contemporary Arts a Swiss platform dedicated to contemporary arts and the distribution of related information. Designed as a cultural exchange and referral vehicle. Casa América A public organisation based in Madrid which focuses their activities on developing Iberoamerican culture around the world. Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes Web portal for national cultural council of Mexico with lots of links and contacts for cultural organisations, grants, competitions etc. Miso Music Portugal Portuguese Music Information Centre – linking Portuguese music to the world. Miso Music website is an excellent source of information on international music competitions, courses etc. Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes A National Institution in Mexico which aims to develop the performing arts. Site contains good links for international calls and competitions.
