fD is made up of art spaces in over 60 countries with regional hubs in São Paulo, Cairo, New York City, Berlin, and co-hosted at two locations in India (Pune/Pondicherry). After three years of informal collaboration, The Flux Factory in Queens has become the official NYC hub center, hosting the fD office among other things. Sangam House is a writers residency program just outside of Pondicherry in the southeast Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Up to seven writers at a time—from South Asia and the rest of the world—are invited to live together while they grind out their latest work—stories, poetry, scripts, and all those arrangements of words that don’t fit neatly into any of these categories. fD advisor and Sangam co-founder, DW Gibson is documenting the 2010 residency for BOMB magazine in a series of blog posts that take a look at what sharing a physical space means to an artistic community.
Artist, Activist, Filmmaker George Gittoes will be speaking at the UfaFabrik in Berlin after the screenings of his film 'The Miscreants of Taliwood' among others. He will also be in NYC (Feb 18/19) for screenings at MoMA
