Ingmar Bergman: Saraband

Jiří Pokorný recently staged Ingmar Bergman´s last text at the Theatre on the Balustrades in Prague, shaking up the interest of theatre critics. Pokorný has been awarded for his direction – as a director with a new vision, a new fantasy, and courage. Click here.


Oněgin from Ostrava

Jan Mikulášek has recently drawn attention to himself with several important productions staged in the Moravian city of Ostrava as well as in Brno. This season, he has taken on the challenge to dramatise Pushkin´s Eugene Onegin (Evžen Oněgin) at the Petr Bezruč Theatre in Ostrava. Click here.

420people – New Czech Dance Company

Two former dance performers from the Nederlands Dans Theater Nataša Novotná and Václav Kuneš teamed up with producer Ondřej Kotrč to create the new dance company 420people. The world premiere of their new projects recently took place in Brno and Prague. Click here.


A New Choreography about Power and Helplessness

It seems that Dot504 has a very strong season ahead of themselves. After their remarkable Holdin´ Fast (choreography Jozef Fruček and Linda Kapetanea), the company presented their debut performance of Proposition by dancer Lenka Vagnerová at the Ponec Theatre. Click here.

Albert's Fears

Another new successful production is the performance Albert's Fears (Albert se bojí) by performer Vojta Švejda recently presented at the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre. Švejda is a non-verbal performer whose specialty is not experimental theatre, but something that can be considered a stylized "exercise". Click here.
