September is a busy month for Magdalenas. Right now many are en route to
Madrid for the festival "A Solas", 3-8 September; information in English

available on the web site.
Following the festival, a meeting to begin to plan the Magdalena Archive
Project will take place in Aberystwyth, Wales (12-13 September). To
date, physical material has been gathered in various places by people
involved in the project, and the Archive
<http://www.themagdalenaproject.org/content/archive> section of the web
site has provided a chronology, links to festival web sites, and digital
material. The question is how to organise all of the material – physical
and digital – in such a way that it is accessible to artists,
researchers and interested people, and so that it can continue to evolve
as the project grows. Read more about the MAP project here

And we are delighted to announce the release of "Magdalena", a film
produced by Jill Greenhalgh and Sara Penrhyn Jones. This 30-minute
documentary draws on footage from two festivals in 2011 (the 25th
anniversary in Wales, and Magdalena Sin Fronteras in Cuba) to
historicise the project and convey something of the spirit which has
kept the network relevant in a changing environment. The full
documentary is available to view online, with information available in
