Latino International Theater Festival of New York, Inc. | September 2007 |
Greetings!
Thanks to the extraordinary contributions of participating artists, crew, volunteers, board members, staff, sponsors, partners, and a heartwarming audience . . . TeatroStageFest came to life in the first two weeks of May 2007! Click here to view a short video with highlights. We are proud to say that TeatroStageFest featured 20 different productions and events; brought together 178 artists, including 15 local theater companies and 42 international artists; attracted thousands of visitors; and raised awareness to millions more through partnerships with community/cultural groups, NYC & Company sponsored street banners, and the generous support of our many media partners, including The New York Times, El Diario/La Prensa, People en Español, V-me, and more. Gracias a todos! What's new at TeatroStageFest? TeatroStageFest will begin a series of activities year-round in partnership with local organizations to continue supporting the rich and diverse initiatives by Latino theater artists and companies of New York. To that end, please encourage your friends to join our mailing list and check our TeatroStageExtras page regularly for announcements and links to the great Latino theater taking place in town that you are not going to want to miss! Our own Fall Calendar includes: 9/24: TeatroStageFest is presented with a Special Recognition HOLA Award;
9/27: TeatroStageFest curates live programming at the V-me/PBS Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff event, featuring excerpts from the Broadway-bound musical In the Heights;
9/29: TeatroStageFest participates in the FAB Festival; and
November: TeatroStageFest joins Teatro SEA's BORIMIX Puerto Rico Fest 2007.
We're already busy planning for the next TeatroStageFest in June 2008 and happy to explore creative ways to involve you! Please contact us if you would like to volunteer, make a donation, introduce us to a potential funder, or work with us over the next few months. We look forward to seeing you soon! |
Happy Fall!
