About Tamasi:

Tamasi is a collective of 11 independent performing arts organisations with members based in Jordan, Egypt, Palestine (West Bank & Gaza) & Lebanon. Tamasi works across MENA & has extensive regional & international collaborations. Tamasi works towards the flourishing of free & equitable societies in Arab Country in the MENA region. Members believe that the arts & culture are both the main vehicle & pillar for freedom of expression in the region.

Our output includes: Performances, productions, capacity building, training & mentoring programs & opportunities for burgeoning & independent artists, sub granting & technical support, research & advocacy as well as venue development & rehabilitation.

About Training of Trainers on Fundraising for the Arts & Culture in Arab Country in the MENA region: As part of its effort to strengthen & increase the capacity of the independent arts sector, Tamasi identified the need for skilled fundraisers who can use a wide range of fundraising tools to mobilise resources for the independent arts sector in MENA. Tamasi, therefore, started a project in 2013 geared towards developing a core group of fundraisers for the sector through targeted trainingof trainers.

The training is based on the analysis and findings of a field and desk research commissioned by Tamasi in 2013. It is specifically tailored for the arts sector in Arab Country in the MENA region. The training module has been developed by =mc “The Management

Centre UK” who also conducted the research in collaboration with Tamasi members.

Amman: 17 Nov—19 Nov (Especially aimed at candidates from Jordan,

Lebanon, Palestine & MENA countries other than Egypt)

The training will be a residential training. Candidates are requested to commit to the full duration of the training. The training will be followed by a specialized ToT (training of trainers) early 2015. The ToT will be aimed at selected candidates who have shown significant potential who have attended one of the above trainings.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome candidates from the entire Arab Country in the MENA region. Candidates from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia are especially encouraged to apply.

Selection Criteria: Candidates applying for this training must:

• Be reasonably fluent in spoken and written English

• Have strong communication skills- especially presenting

• Have some experience or confidence in running training or workshops

• Have some understanding of marketing or fund-raising

• Have at least 2 years experience working in the independent arts/ culture

sector &/or civil society sectors.

Costs:

Tamasi Performing Arts collective will cover the costs of local travel, accommodation & meals. We have a limited budget for international travel for candidates from Arab Country in the MENA region.
