Call for Papers: Scene Design – Between Profession, Art and Ideology
Department for Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, and S.Cen (Serbian Centre for Scene Design, Architecture and Technology) lead by professor Radivoje Dinulovic PhD, with the cooperation of the National Theatre Užice, are organising an international conference titled 'Scene design – Between Profession, Art and Ideology' that is to be held from November 8-10 2012, during the Yugoslav Theatre Festival 'Without translation'. Morning sessions will be held in the Hotel Palisad on the Zlatibor mountain, and the afernoon sessions, which are essentialy the side program of the festival, will be held in the National Theatre in Užice.
The conference organisers welcome paper proposals on the following themes:
* Theatre architecture
* Space of contemporary drama
* Scene design – professional, artistic and curating practices
* International influences of spaces and events on contemporary art and public life
* Real and virtual spaces in performing arts
* Theatre technologies in relation to objects of theatre and performance
* Cultural policies and production in relation to theatre spaces
Presentations at the conference will be grouped acording to three general themes:
Scene design as a field of professional work in theatre
Scene design as a set of artistic and curating practices
Scene design as a manner of thought in the society of spectacle

AIMS:
The conference aims at providing a forum for practitioners, theorists, scholars and students to exchange ideas and experiences. The conference welcomes participations and contributions from those involved in both theoretical research and practical applications in all aspects of theatre, performance and scene design.
SCOPE:
The conference covers a broad spectrum of areas with multi-disciplinary interests in the fields of architecture, theatre, visual and performing arts, stage techniques and technologies, theatre and art history and theory, cultural and media studies, artistic management and scene design production, as well as other disciplines connected to all aspects of spectacle in the broadest meaning of the word.
SUBMISSIONS:
Papers for the conference should describe the original work with focused details. All submissions are peer-reviewed. All accepted and presented papers will be published in an ISBN book of proceedings.
Participants should submit abstracts with a maximum of 300 words. Abstracts should include the title of the paper, author's name(s) and affiliation, complete mailing addresses, e-mail address and phone number for correspondence.
The length of final paper is 4 – 8 pages including figures, tables, references and appendices. Detailed writing instructions and templates for final manuscript submission will be sent to the authors enclosed with notification of abstract acceptance and will be available for downloading on SCen website: www.scen.org.rs

Call for applications: ARThinkSouthAsia Cultural Management Programme 2013-14
The ARThinkSouthAsia Fellowship is designed to help develop skills, knowledge, networks and experience of potential leaders in the cultural sector of South Asia which include
museums, the visual and performing arts and digital media. We believe that by supporting exceptional individuals to make a step-change in their skills and career potential, we can bring substantial benefit to the cultural field as a whole.
Fifteen fellows will be selected from across South Asia for the Fellowship which includes a two week residential course in April 2013 led by experienced international and Indian tutors, a secondment/internship in Germany/UK over the fellowship year 2013-14, and a concluding seminar in March the following year.
Requirements for the application 1. Minimum graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent professional qualifications and experience of at least 3 years, either in employment or freelance 2. Detailed CV 3. Submission of a proposed/ongoing project 4. Two letters of recommendation from relevant educational/professional sources 5. Completed application form
