ends on 19 Nov 2014
From October 16 until November 19, youth theatre company Kwatta will be touring in the USA with their show Manxmouse. Last January Kwatta won the IPAY- award with this production. They will be performing in several theatres throughout the States until November.
With bright blue fur, huge rabbit ears, and no tail to speak of, Manxmouse is the strangest little mouse you’ll ever see. He knows that destiny awaits and sets off on an exciting journey, encountering tigers, hawks and dastardly pet shop owners before finally landing in the most unexpected of places. Based on the beloved children’s novel by Paul Gallico, Manxmouse is a charming and offbeat tale full of puppets, animation and music.
Kwatta has been a Dutch youth theatre company since 2002. Under the artistic direction of writer and director Josee Hussaarts, Kwatta puts on productions that are both light – hearted and light – footed with a serious undertone. Kwatta's mission is to create for amazement and admiration.
By asking simple questions about difficult issues, and difficult questions about things that appear to be simple. By making no assumptions and always searching for the unknown and the absurd. By tilting reality to create a different perspective.
Productions by Kwatta are often a combination of text and other forms of theatre such as music, song, puppetry and film.
