The Language of the Stage
This year we will be investigating the many ways in which we can communicate, both on and off the stage. We will consider the language of music, movement/choreography, design, text, sound, and silence. Other possibilities for exploration might include translations, dialects, opera, sign language, and verse.
Further, we will discuss and find more effective ways to communicate with our actors, designers, and marketing team. And we will ask ourselves why we choose the projects we choose, and how we determine what we truly want to say through our work.
The 2016 Lab will be held Sunday, August 21, through Friday, August 26, at the Chicago Cultural Center.
