This month, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will be in Manila, Philippines, to attend the final phase of a documentary filmmakers' workshop supported by its Creative Encounters programme.
Catch/Tell/Transform involves 12 young documentary filmmakers from Asia and comprises hands-on training and seminars with industry professionals such as Yves de Peretti who was recently interviewed by culture360. On this occasion, the ASEF-supported documentary series 10 Lessons in Film will be also screened on 6 December during a public event in the framework of the workshop.
Also in the field of documentary film, ASEF partners with the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in order to promote dialogue and capacity-building among young film professionals from Asia and Europe. The festival will run from 20 November to 1 December and includes a special programme titled Emerging Voices from Southeast Asia featuring 15 documentary films from the sub-region.
In early December, the ASEF Experts Meeting & Public Forum Creative Economy in Asia and Europe: Emerging Pillar of Economic Growth and Development will take place in Hanoi, Viet Nam. As creative industries are now widely acknowledged to be a dynamic sector of the world economy, this event represents an opportunity to discuss both challenges and good practices stemming from Asia and Europe.
Lastly, the culture360 Magazine features 3 articles on the topic of international cultural mobility in the context ofThailand, Poland, and Viet Nam. Through individual interviews carried out by culture360 contributor Herman Bashiron Mendolicchio, a number of existing initiatives that are building toward 'internationalisation' are reflected.
We wish you an enjoyable read!
