This month of February, our editor Judith Staines highlights some exciting visual, literary and other arts events coming up in Asia and Europe in 2013. She also reports on her visit last November to the southern Japanese city of Beppu, home to a lively contemporary arts scene alongside the traditional hot springs culture.
Also in our Magazine, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cemeti Art House in Indonesia, Katerina Valdivia Bruch shares her artistic experiences in an interview with the artists and founders, Mella Jaarsma and Nindityo Adipurnomo. Since 1988, this institution has promoted contemporary Indonesian art overseas through collaborations with international institutions and residency programmes, with a clear commitment towards a reflection on art and society.
We wish you all a pleasant reading!
