We are happy to announce the shortlisted projects for ASEF's Creative Encounters: Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe and Creative Networks. In both programmes combined, over 200 proposals were submitted from Asia and Europe. 12 projects have been shortlisted and the final selection will be announced in December 2013.

In the Magazine section, our contributor Katrina Valdivia Bruch interviews Singaporean artist Donna Ong who is currently a resident at the renowned Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, Germany. In this conversation, Donna elaborates on how she is experiencing and practicing visual arts in Europe.

As part of the By People / In Cities series, writer Florent Petit takes our readers to the city of Lyon, France, where contemporary art is thriving and transforming local spaces and environments.

We also make our way to Auckland, New Zealand, with Carla van Zon, the Artistic Director of the Auckland Arts Festival. Through her perspective, you will discover the diverse city of Auckland and its focus on artistic and cultural exchanges.

We wish you an enjoyable read!
