Cornerstone’s Two Day Intensives (2DI) provide excellent opportunities for both new and established artists who support a growing national interest in creating theater with and for communities.
Designed for 12 to 40 participants, this workshop relies on participants’ input and creativity for activities and conversations that include an introduction to Cornerstone’s 20+ year history, hands-on exercises for choosing and engaging communities, story gathering, script writing and adaptation, auditions, casting and design, plus an opportunity to put these various elements into practice creating art together. Institute 2-Day Intensives include 13 hours of instruction and hands-on activities in:

Do you have a community-collaborative project in the works? Do you want to start from scratch learning what community-based theater might be for you? The 2DI is designed to integrate your interests and concerns into the structured curriculum.
Bring two of our Ensemble members to your group to teach a crash-course in Cornerstone’s methodology over two days. We aim to craft the content for each Intensive to the needs of the hiring Institution and the interests of the participants.
Annual Two Day Intensive at Cornerstone’s space in Los Angeles:
Cornerstone offers a 2DI for individual participation in late February each year. Occasionally we’ll offer a second one in the fall. If you are an artist, educator or activist, or curious about Cornerstone for whatever reason, this is the opportunity for you. Intensives for individual participation take place at Cornerstone’s office/rehearsal space in the downtown Artist District in Los Angeles.

Hours for this Intensive at Cornerstone’s office are:
Saturday, February 22 from 9:30a to 6:30p (1 hour lunch break around 1:30p)
Sunday, February 23 from 10:00a to 3:00p (working lunch in the afternoon)
Cost: $300 (Early registration discount when registered and paid before January 20, 2014.)
Discount available for groups of 3 or more who register together from the same school or organization when registered and paid before January 20, 2014.
