ASEF culture360 Newsletter September 2014

This September, ASEF culture360 announces the 10 artists selected by Equilibrium, an international cultural initiative that aims at building creative contexts in villages and towns in India. The selected artists from Asia and Europe will participate between October and November this year in a 5-week residency that will involve activities with local women and lead toward creative capacity-building at a local school in Partapur, India. This project is supported by ASEF through the Creative Encounters series.

Also this month, we look forward to EARS on Helsinki – Europe-Asia Roundtable Sessions which will take place in Helsinki on 4-7 September. The event will bring 300 creative industry professionals together to discover business opportunities, share best practices and get inspired by others and their ideas. On 5 September 2014, ASEF will also support a roundtable on policy issues in the creative industries a topic of increasing mutual interest for Asia-Europe dialogue.

We are delighted to hear that the Film Producers Workshop Ties that Bind, a project selected under ASEF’s Creative Encounters (3rd edition) in 2014, has received support from Creative Europe, the European Commission’s financial support programme for the creative, cultural and audiovisual sectors in Europe.
