This August, we are proud to announce two events supported by ASEF coming up in September.

The 6th General Conference of the Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS)will be organised in partnership with Weltmuseum Wien from 24-27 September 2014 in Vienna, Austria. In line with the theme of the conference Exploring Borders, ASEF will host a special panel The Post-colonial Museum: Visions and Trends from Asia and Europe on 26 September 2014. The panel envisions the transformation of museums in the contemporary digital age. Professor Amareswar GALLA, Executive Director, International Institute for the Inclusive Museum, Denmark, Professor Hong-Bin KANG, Director, History Museum of Seoul, Korea and the independent cultural advisor, Yasmin KHAN will deliver the keynotes.

Also next month, do not miss EARS – Europe-Asia Roundtable Sessions, a new platform focusing on collaborations in the creative industries, in Helsinki, Finland from 4-7 September 2014. EARS on Helsinki is one of the four projects selected through the Creative Encounters programme in 2013. 

In the Magazine, discover the story of Phare Ponleu Selpak, an inspiring non-profit organisation based in Cambodia; listen to the views of Abdelkader DAMANI on the Veduta programme of theLyon Biennale; and read the thoughts of Christa MEINDERSMA, Director of the Prince Claus Fund, on heritage and communities.
